Small Daily Practices
Celebrating Sabbat and Moon rituals is a great way to connect with the feelings of the magick within yourself and all around you in the world. While these ritual “highs” are great, the feelings don’t last and we get sucked back into the mundane world of responsibilities like jobs, families, or school where it becomes very easy to ignore the existence of magick. A major goal of the spiritual practices expressed through Witchcraft is to learn to walk successfully balancing yourself between the two worlds (i.e. being fully in both at the same time). By adding simple daily spiritual practices and using small bits of magick, it not only makes managing mundane life easier but it helps bring that balance so necessary for your practice. Examples of spiritual practices might include lighting a candle when you get up and before going to bed to acknowledge magick in the world, taking a few moments before eating and drinking to thank the Universe for its gifts to you, or making time to sit quietly and meditate for 10 minutes at some point during the day. Small bits of magick might include a simple spell to brighten your day or to locate something you misplaced or learning to focus on those synchronicities, those unexpected relationships between events that don’t seem to have a connected cause, that occur to let us know that magick is truly part of the mundane world.
